Girls' Weekend In DC

9:28 PM

We've been feeling the urge to travel again for quite some time now, especially since coming off of our last trip from NYC. Most recently, our best friend of 19 years, Amira, invited us to come visit her in Washington, D.C., since making the move there a few months ago, and and we just couldn't say no! So over Presidents' Day weekend, we packed our bags and headed up north for an adventure-filled weekend! Our time spent there was nothing short of incredible! From dinner in the Mosaic District and bar-hopping in the city, all the way to meeting her amazing group of friends, brunch in Georgetown, and experiencing all the city's sights and sounds, we couldn't have asked for a better time! Being in D.C has shown us that there is much more to life than the everyday routine that we've grown used to experiencing. Just like NYC, this place has taught us to step outside of our comfort zone and, with action, make the changes necessary to build the lives that we ultimately want for ourselves. Most importantly, this trip allowed us to cherish the true meaning of a best friend and value our 19 years (and counting) of friendship! Keep scrolling for a glimpse of our fun-filled D.C. shenanigans! P.S. Thanks, Amira, for capturing some of these awesome memories for us! We love you :)

Dinner at CAVA! To say this food was tasty is an understatement! If you haven't gone, this place is a must!

Pre-gaming before the night's festivities! Aren't these test tube shooters the cutest?! Super fun, don't you think?

Bar hopping in DC is quite the experience! This night we went to four--The Madhatter, Dirty Bar, The Manor, and The Gryphon! As you can see, we couldn't resist a quick selfie in between dances :)

Dirty Bar :) The neat thing about this place is the giant swing at the front! Everyone is welcome to sit and pose for a photo op!

Another selfie :)

Brunch at El Centro! In DC, brunch is a major thing, so we couldn't pass up an experience like this! Plus, who says "no" to food and bottomless mimosas?

Tacos and grilled chicken quesadillas :)

You can't have brunch without a little dessert after! We made a pit-stop at Georgetown Cupcake! This place has some of the best cupcakes we've ever tasted! Not only are there a plethora of flavors, but the taste is like none other! Definitely not your typical cupcake!

As you can see, these cupcakes are pretty popular! The line was literally out the door and around the corner! We waited about 30-40 minutes, but the line moved pretty quickly. It was well worth the wait!

Pointy flats, sleek skinnies, and Georgetown streets...we'd say that's a pretty nice combo!

We decided to sit and enjoy the scenery at the Francis Scott Key Bridge (look at that Potomac River!) while trying our very first Georgetown cupcake :)

Strawberry and Red Velvet Swirl Cheesecake

Before the first bite :)

So delicious!

Sight-seeing! You can't come to DC without visiting the monuments! Amongst them were the Washington Monument, the Capitol Building, and the White House! We also stopped for a pic in front of DC's newest museum, The National Musuem of African American History and Culture. We definitely plan to go there the next time we visit.

All of that sight-seeing made us pretty hungry! Before heading back for the night, we stopped by one of Amira's favorite burger spots--Bobby's Burger Palace! We all had the Brunch Burger and added a side of fries (Dannie) and onion rings (Channy). What a great way to top off an amazing day and fun-filled weekend!
