Hey, guys! So we recently just came back from vacationing in New Jersey and New York to see our brother, and we gotta say that it was absolutely AMAZING! This is actually our 2nd time visiting here, and each time it gets better and better! Honestly, New York is very dear to our hearts. Not only is this the place where we want to live and make all of our fashion dreams come true, but we love the city's diversity, the upbeat atmosphere, and the fact that there is ALWAYS something to do! Whenever we come here it's like a breathe of fresh air (figuratively speaking, of course haha)...we feel so alive. For those of you who have been here before, we're pretty sure you know that New York is huge and you will never see everything in just one trip. Needless to say, we visited a lot of cool places, including Carteret Waterfront Park (New Jersey), one of the buildings where our brother used to work, Grand Central Station, the United Nations headquarters, and one of our favorites...the Fashion District! We also rode the subway for the very first time and we must say that it was a pretty cool experience--all of this while looking awesomely chic along the way! But enough of our talking...we'll let our photos speak for themselves :)
xoxo,
-Channy & Dannie
Found these beauties at a rest stop in Maryland while on our way :)
At Carteret Waterfront Park in New Jersey
The view was breathtaking and quite peaceful...
That boat was HUGE in person!
We opted for cute and comfy jogger pants, t-shirts, & flat sandals for the road trip there. There's nothing like looking stylish and relaxed at the same time! And you know we couldn't forget a pretty pedi! French and orchid, anyone?
"Bloom where you are planted"...It's amazing when you realize how beautiful life truly is.
Grand Central Station...sometimes you can see the people who work there walk by in those huge windows! (how in the world do they get up there?!)
Amazing constellations on the ceiling
One of the train terminals
Selfie in the city :)
A cool storefront display...it kind of reminded us of The Lion King
The United Nations headquarters
The City of Dreams...can't wait 'til we finally live here!
Since everything is super fast-paced in the city, you know we had to dress the part! To keep things simple, we went for a onesie theme--rompers! The first look (Dannie-left) has bold and sassy written all over it with this wild cheetah print! A red lip does a great job of adding that extra pop of color and makes for a chic accent. The second look (Channy-right) takes a trip on the sweet and fun side with this vibrant bird print! An orange lip definitely brings out the colors in this outfit and warms up this look. Again, we topped it off with flat sandals for comfort and a cute crossbody bag for convenience...who doesn't love being hands-free? :)
Our favorite place...the Fashion District! This area is filled with stores that sell fabrics and wholesale items for designers, fashion students, and business owners! LOVE the giant needle and button <3
The Garment Worker...and our brother being silly!
The Fashion Institute of Technology
Such a cool display!
These shots are amazing!
Fashion displays inside FIT...so inspiring!
This exhibit was super interesting and amazing! We never knew how fabulously chic lingerie could be back in the day!
Late lunch at brgr...yummy :)
Our first time on the subway! There was a little reggae band performing and a woman singing opera while we were waiting to get on. There's so many things that go on down there and ON the subway, too!
The site of the World Trade Center...this is the 1st of 7 towers that are going to be built here.
The World Trade Center Memorial Fountain...all of the names of those who lost their lives are engraved around the entire fountain. It's really emotional when you see it for yourself...
A park that we visited while in the city...we honestly forgot the name, but it was really beautiful. There was actually a show/movie being filmed there at the time we went. It was really cool being able to be near the set and see the actors, directors, wardrobe, and food. Everyone appeared to be on break.
Our outfits on day 2. The first look (Channy-left) is super flirty with this cool skater skirt and boho-chic crop top! The cut-out oxford sandals do an awesome job of giving a polished and sophisticated touch. Not to mention, they sort of remind us of the '80's! The second look (Dannie-right) gives off a sleek and sexy boho feel with this maxi skirt. The slit on the side adds a bit of a flirtateous vibe, and the mint tribal crop top offers a fun pop of color! The funny thing is that we didn't realize until after we got back home that we went for another matching theme for our looks--tribal crops and flirty skirts! :)
We really enjoyed every minute of this trip! Being here made us realize that even though we are Southern girls, we truly are city girls at heart! We know that by working hard and remaining focused on our goals and dreams, this will soon become our home and our reality <3
